PORTFOLIO

Here’s a collection of our work!

We partnered with these folks…

to make these videos…

Community FoodBank of New Jersey

(Volunteer Recruitment & Training Video)

We created this video with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey to help recruit & prepare volunteers, so they know what to expect before they arrive.

Restorative Practices

(Explainer Video)

We partnered with The University of Chicago Education Lab to help summarize their research on the effects of restorative practices in local high schools. This video is designed to show how Restorative Practices equip teachers with strategies to support students rather than suspend them.

IMPACT: This video presents the research findings of the Education Lab's study in a clear, approachable way.

Food & Water Watch Fundraiser

(Honoree Video)

For the last two years, we’ve worked with Food & Water Watch to create a series of videos for their annual Against All Odds benefit. This video features interviews with the 2023 event honorees speaking about why they support Food & Water Watch, and how you can too.

(Social Media Fundraising Video)

This is an excerpt from a video we made welcoming folks to Food & Water Watch’s 2022 Against All Odds benefit. This short video was spread on social media, viewed by hundreds of thousands of people, and generated donations for Food & Water Watch’s 2022 fundraising campaign.

The Last Drop [TRAILER]

(Advocacy Film)

The Last Drop is a 40-min. sci-fi film about relationship abuse inspired by the memories of real survivors.

Most Hollywood movies imply that abuse doesn’t “count” unless it leaves a bruise— but the first signs of abuse are rarely violent. That’s why we partnered with a team of survivors and abuse experts to create a new kind of film— one that illustrates the lesser-known forms of abuse, like emotional abuse, isolation tactics, digital abuse, and more.

IMPACT: By partnering with educators, nonprofits, social workers, activists, and community groups, The Last Drop is kickstarting an international campaign about relationship safety. Visit The Last Drop’s website to check out our Impact Report or Book a Screening for your community!

Environmental Mythbusters

(Environmental Comedy Series)

We worked with Smart Power Illinois to write, produce, and edit this environmental comedy web series. Featuring topics like community solar, environmental justice, and electric cars, we bust environmental myths and show people ways they can have help their environment.

IMPACT: This series was spread on social media, viewed by thousands of people, and used as a tool to promote environmental action and advocacy.

Our Team Is Bigger Than Our Roster

(Event/Program Impact Video)

We edited this video to highlight the Midway Classic Tournament, hosted by the University of Chicago Men’s Basketball Team. This tournament shines a spotlight on the year-long impact of the University of Chicago Basketball Team, and the players’ relationship with the students in the Hyde Park community.

Why We Support

(Fundraising Video)

We filmed and edited this video, featuring our very own Aggressively Compassionate co-founder, Adam Joel, talking about his experience with the One Earth Film Festival, and how it has impacted him and his career.

IMPACT: This video generated support for the One Earth Film Festival, inspiring donations to help them feature, connect, and employ young filmmakers and activists.

Love Is Not

(Podcast Trailer)

This is a trailer we made for Love Is Not, a (surprisingly funny) podcast about relationship abuse. In addition to making this trailer, we also help produce and edit podcast episodes.

IMPACT: Love Is Not has reached hundreds of survivors, building up a braintrust of experts, organizations, and survivors to help foster a community and start conversations about what love is, and what love is not.

Young Filmmakers are POWERFUL

(Event Promo)

We interviewed young filmmakers across the country to produce this video for the One Earth Film Festival’s Young Filmmakers Contest. This video was made to inspire young filmmakers to not only submit a film to the contest, but to advocate for the causes that they are passionate about.

IMPACT: The One Earth Film Festival 2021 Young Filmmakers Contest received 148 entries from young filmmakers across the country.

What Does Family
Mean to You?

(Nonprofit Ad)

We filmed and edited this ad for The Well of Mercy, a long-term shelter for single mothers and their children that goes above and beyond to help them heal and get back on their feet.

IMPACT: This video debuted at The Well of Mercy’s Tenth Annual Fundraising Gala to raise funds & awareness. Now the founder is using this video to inspire social leaders to replicate their model all across the country.

Hitting the Brakes on Climate Change

(Advocacy Video)

Renowned climate activist, Mike Tidwell, of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, asked us to bring his most powerful climate metaphor to life. By mixing archival footage with our own, we portrayed our climate as a car speeding out of control. Then we used animation to explain how Virginians could stop it.

IMPACT: Screened in public hearings all across VA, garnering support for new RGGI legislation

How to Fix
a Broken Environmental Law

(Animated Advocacy Video)

When an environmental law stops working, do we have to bulldoze it and start over OR can we fix its loopholes and move forward?

The Chesapeake Climate Action Network wanted to simplify this complex legal question for their constituents, so we animated this nifty little metaphor to help them out!

IMPACT: CCAN successfully passed the piece of legislation they supported with the video: The Maryland Clean Energy Jobs Act.

Under the Weather

(Social Issue Film)

We wrote and directed the short film Under the Weather  about a young woman whose mental health comes to life as surreal weather events.

IMPACT:
— Started valuable conversations about mental health by including input from 62 people in our writing and editing process
— Selected by The Bluenose Ability Arts & Film Festival in Canada
— Booked for screening & discussion events by multiple universities
