FOUNDERS
Corinne Chapman
Corinne is passionate about making impact-driven films that are just as entertaining as they are informative. She has worked as a cinematographer, editor, and director for a variety of documentaries, web series, commercials, podcasts, music videos, and more.
She prioritizes accessibility in her filmmaking, and utilizes tools such as creative captioning in her work. She firmly believes that captioning doesn't have to be an afterthought, but a dynamic piece of the film itself.
Adam Joel
Adam loves finding creative ways to make social issue films more exciting! He’s been making videos for nonprofits since he was a BABY (since he was 14).
As the Impact Manager for Kindling Group, he booked over 1,300 community screenings of “No Small Matter,” a documentary about the importance of early childhood education.
He also performs as a professional improv comedian at theaters like iO and Second City.
Our Origin Story…
The Dynamic Duo
Originally from Maryland, both Corinne and Adam found themselves (and each other) pursuing a career in Chicago’s film industry. Both had experience freelancing for nonprofits, companies, and independent film projects. On a snowy day in November, 2019, they came together to co-found Aggressively Compassionate, a boutique production company focused on creating impact-driven content!
Now, they’ve joined forces to create a network of filmmakers, graphic designers, musicians, and other creatives all across Chicago.
What’s next?
After pooling their resources, skills, connections, and equipment, Aggressively Compassionate quickly began to gain momentum. Since then, Corinne and Adam have partnered with a variety of organizations, including the One Earth Film Festival, WBEZ Chicago, and the Women’s Global Education Project.
As their client list grows, they’re also developing their own short films, documentaries, and podcasts to launch impact campaigns for the causes closest to their hearts.
